Safety Tips for Buyers & Sellers
Most deals on ListQuikk go smoothly. The ones that don't usually share the same handful of warning signs. These are the habits that keep you safe — they take a few extra minutes and are worth every one of them.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a busy public place — a shopping centre, a bank forecourt, or a café. Avoid empty car parks and never meet after dark in an unfamiliar area.
- Bring someone with you, especially for high-value items.
- Tell someone where you're going and when you expect to be back.
- Be cautious about home visits.If the item genuinely cannot be moved — furniture, appliances, a vehicle — don't go alone, and trust your instinct if something feels wrong.
Inspecting the item
- See it working before you pay.Power on electronics, start the engine, run the appliance. "The charger is at home" is a common way to hide a fault.
- Check the serial or IMEIon phones and laptops, and confirm the device isn't locked to someone else's account. A phone locked to an iCloud or Google account is worthless to you.
- Ask for the original receipt, box or service historywhere it should exist. Its absence isn't proof of anything, but a seller who can produce it is a better bet.
- Compare against the listing photos.If the item in front of you isn't the item in the photos, walk away.
Paying
- Pay on collection, in person, once you have inspected the item. This single rule prevents most losses.
- Never pay a deposit to hold an item for someone you have not met. There is no way to get it back.
- Be wary of any request to pay outside the meeting— mobile wallet transfers, bank transfers, gift cards, or "my brother will collect it".
- Count cash before you hand over the item, and check large notes.
For sellers
- Confirm payment has actually cleared before releasing the item. A screenshot of a transfer is not proof of payment — check your own account balance.
- Don't share personal documents. No legitimate buyer needs your CNIC, bank statements or utility bills.
- Remove personal data from phones, laptops and vehicles before handing them over — factory reset and sign out of all accounts.
- Be sceptical of overpayment.A buyer who "accidentally" sends too much and asks you to refund the difference is running a well-known scam.
Keep conversations on ListQuikk
Use the on-site chat for as long as possible. If something goes wrong, that conversation is the evidence our moderation team can review. A deal moved to WhatsApp in the first message — before any questions about the item — is a common way to get you somewhere unmonitored.
Trust your judgement
If a price is far below market, if the seller is pressuring you to decide immediately, or if the story keeps changing — walk away. There will be another listing. See Scam Prevention for the specific patterns to watch for, and Report Abuse if you encounter one.
What ListQuikk does not do
